Her Wedding Dress, Round Two: Chelsea’s Creative Studio Session
She got married at 34 weeks pregnant with her first. Now, pregnant with her second, Chelsea put the wedding dress back on.
Chelsea in her wedding dress at her studio maternity session.
That’s the frame this whole session hangs on. Pregnant bridal portraits, in her own gown, years after it walked down an aisle with a different bump underneath it. If you want to know why I believe maternity photos are heirlooms and not expenses, it’s sessions like this one. Around the dress we built a full creative arc: a black catsuit, then a cowgirl hat with a fur coat and black cowgirl boots, and finally the fun one, a fur coat with sunglasses, silk pants, and platform heels on a couch, on a fully built set. Pure vogue, pure celebrity editorial, pure Chelsea.
We shot it on Portra 400 medium format film alongside plenty of digital. Film is the add-on I reach for when a session is this cinematic; the grain does something no preset can fake, and nobody else in Colorado maternity offers it. The studio made the set builds possible, and the film page shows what Portra does to skin and light.
If you’ve got a dress with a story, bring it. The form on the studio page comes straight to me.
